The long-awaited update for the Ford Mustang sports coupe will be brought along by a 2.3-liter engine producing 330 hp. Home sales are scheduled for autumn this year.
Not so long ago it became known about the new version of the American Ford Mustang. The car, which will be positioned as a model 2020 model year, will receive a powerful engine. It is known that the car will not receive the SVO index, that is, it will not have a turbocharged engine, it will also not be called ST and will not receive the RS badge. The new version of the car will receive the designation Mustang 2.3L High Performance.
It is reported that we are talking about a new basic model. The car will be equipped with a 330-horsepower 2.3-liter engine of the EcoBoost family, which received an enlarged double helix turbocharger, new settings and a larger radiator for the necessary cooling.
There will also be an active exhaust system with four connections for a growling sound.
Compared to the current “base” sports coupe, the power increase is 20 hp, and the maximum torque remains unchanged – 475 Nm. According to representatives of the company, with the new engine, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will be about 4.0 seconds. The shorter 3:55 rear axle ratio is also part of the improvements, which certainly also contributes to the overall acceleration.
Ford has not yet published pricing information for the Mustang 2.3L High Performance. Currently, the base cost of the model is $ 26,395. 2020 Mustang 2.3L High Performance will arrive in the dealerships of the company this fall.
