Ford may create a new sub-brand called MustangNovember 18, 2019
According to insiders, the American brand may create a new sub-brand, which in turn will receive the legendary “nickname” Mustang. The new brand may be engaged in the fact that it will produce more powerful versions of Ford production models.
55 years after the introduction of the very first version of the cult Mustang sports coupe, the American brand Ford decided to significantly expand the scope of this name, which has already become truly legendary. The company’s all-electric crossover, which was introduced this Sunday, got the designation Mustang Mach-E, and although it borrowed some style elements from the muscle car, the two cars are very different.
According to the latest reports of our foreign colleagues, the American automaker plans to name more than one of its future models with the Mustang name.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this news, little is known about the company’s plans for this, however, that foreign sources say that Ford can still turn the cult “nickname” Mustang into a specialized sub-brand, under which very powerful cars of the company will be produced. At the moment, it is unclear what these vehicles can be and whether they will be exclusively electric, like the recently shown Mach-E crossover, or will still have internal combustion engines.
About a year ago, there were rumors that Ford was showing its dealers a four-door version of the Mustang model. It was said that a V8 engine with a turbocharger and a pair of turbines was installed in the car to provide the necessary power with which it could compete with cars such as the Porsche Panamera and Audi A7 Sportback.
