Ford is working on a new Megazilla engineDecember 4, 2020
The American automaker said it is working on an even more powerful variant of its 7.3-liter Godzilla V8 engine available in the 2020 Ford Super Duty pickup.
This was announced by Mike Goodwin of Ford Performance in a video posted online recently. In the video, Goodwin claims that the redesigned Megazilla engine is a “super secret project.” He did not give all the details about the new engine, but confirmed that it will be more powerful than the 430-horsepower Godzilla unit.
Despite the fact that the Ford Godzilla V8 was offered as an engine for only a short time, it already proved to be quite popular in the aftermarket, and tuners began to bring it to new heights. The motor is so impressive that at least one tuner has already managed to extract 790 hp from it. without having to increase it with a turbocharger.
It’s unclear if Ford’s plans for the Megazilla include some form of forced induction or if it will keep the naturally aspirated setup like the Godzilla. Be that as it may, it should produce a tremendous amount of horsepower and incredible torque. Godzilla costs 8,150 dollars.
