Ford is preparing a new 6.8-liter engine for the Mustang

In a recent interview, an American brand spokesman mentioned a new 6.8-liter engine that will be installed under the hoods of the full-size F-150 pickup truck as well as the Mustang sports coupe.

The president of a major Canadian auto workers union has said flatly that the Blue Oval will soon unveil a new 6.8-liter engine that will be used in the Ford F-150 pickup truck and Mustang sports coupe.

The news was announced at a press conference held on September 23 by Unifor, the largest private union in Canada.

The union was in talks with Ford on details of production and struck a $ 2 billion deal to produce at various factories in Canada. During a 31-minute press conference, Unifor President Jerry Diaz mentioned several times about a new 6.8-liter engine that Ford will build at one of its factories.

In an official press release on the deal, Unifor further confirmed the engine’s production, but did not classify it as a 6.8-liter powerplant or specify its use.

Midway through the press conference, Diaz announced that the 6.8-liter engine would be used in “Mustang and F-150 derivatives.”

It is worth noting that when Western journalists tried to find out more about the new engine and where it would be installed from Ford, representatives of the brand said that they would not comment on rumors about future products.

If Ford plans to introduce a 6.8-liter engine for its iconic sports coupe, it is likely that it will hardly be available for purchase in the current model generation.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the Ford Mustang Mach 1 will be sold worldwide. As announced on Sunday, October 11, the Ford Authority portal, the Ford Mustang Mach 1 will be available in the global market, not just in North America.
