Ford introduced the teaser for the new mysterious car GTJune 22, 2019
The official presentation of the American news will be held at the festival of speed in Goodwood (UK). It will be shown along with the new Focus ST and Mustang Shelby GT500. Ford will show a new product on July 4th.
News from Ford comes this week with an enviable constancy. Having learned about the power of the updated Mustang Shelby GT500, the guys from the “blue oval” released a gloomy teaser for a future version of their supercar GT. What are we looking at? Well, Ford does not say, but mentions that the car will be announced on the occasion of the Goodwood Speed Festival early next month.
Judging by the published image, this is definitely not an ordinary GT. The massive rear wing and the shape of the scoop on the roof make us think that we are dealing with a racing car, which is a derivative of the flagship car Ford, in the same spirit as the LM GTE Pro.
Due to the fact that the organizers of the FIA World Endurance Championship endurance race shared more information about the LMP1 successor earlier this month, we have some information. We know that a new car may have something to do with the upcoming rules regarding hypercars.
Aston Martin will take part in this race on a hybrid Valkyrie hypercar, Toyota will set up a GR Super Sport hypercar, but Ford may want to join the battle with the mysterious GT. We make this assumption about a GT racing car with a hypercar specification, based on the fact that Ford participated in the discussion of the new rules with Toyota, Aston Martin, McLaren and Ferrari. It is also possible that this is a more expensive GT version with improved GTE Pro versions.
