Ford Focus Active version received special suspension settings
Ford introduced the all-terrain hatchback and wagon Focus Active on the European market. The models received special suspension settings, special modes of operation of the traction control system, an extended list of equipment and electronic security systems.
All-road versions of the hatchback and wagon Focus can be found on the lining of unpainted plastic on the wheel arches, bumpers and sills. Both models received an independent rear multi-link suspension, special springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars. For cars, we changed the geometry of the steering knuckles and increased the ground clearance: 30 mm in front and 34 in the rear (up to 164 and 168 mm for the station wagon and 165 and 169 mm for the hatchback).
Drive Mode has received two new profiles: not allowing excessive slippings of Slippery (for driving on surfaces with low adhesion rates like mud, snow and ice), and Trail, in which more traction is applied to the wheels and the anti-lock system becomes less aggressive .
Gamma Ford Focus Active engine consists of gasoline and diesel engines EcoBoost and EcoBlue. Three-cylinder units 1.0 (85, 100 and 125 hp) and 1.5 (150 and 182 hp) can shut off one cylinder at low loads. Diesel engines of 1.5 and 2.0 yield 95, 125 and 150 horsepower. The engines can be combined with a six-speed manual transmission or a new eight-band automatic with adaptive shift function and a swivel washer.
The Ford Focus Active equipment will include the SYNC 3 multimedia complex with Apple CarPlay support, WiFi access point and voice control, B&O audio system, wireless charging. Electronic assistants include: adaptive head optics with the function of predictive adjustment of the brightness and shape of the light beam, active cruise control with the function of a full stop and recognition of road signs, as well as an assistance system for active maneuvering and compensation for parasitic power steering.
