Ford introduced a hybrid version of the minivan S-MaxFebruary 9, 2021
Ford has shown a plug-in hybrid variant of the S-Max minivan, which is offered in 5- and 7-seater versions.
According to the press service of the American brand, the hybrid unit of the model consists of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine operating on the Atkinson cycle, a small electric motor, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.1 kWh and a transmission of the latest generation. The total performance of the power plant is 190 hp, while the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers of track reaches 6.4 liters. As for the emissions of carbon dioxide into the environment, their volume is 146 grams per kilometer according to the WLTP standard.
Speaking of the dynamic performance of the new variant of the S-Max, this car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 9.8 seconds. It’s not the fastest car, of course, but Ford promises “smooth linear acceleration” that complements the minivan’s inherently sporty character.
It is worth saying that the Ford S-Max is a minivan of the American brand, the prFord introduced a hybrid version of the minivan S-Maxoduction of which started in 2006. In turn, the presentation of the second generation of the model took place in 2014. The first generation of the minivan was built on the same platform as the Ford Galaxy. Note that in 2007 the S-Max was named the Car of the Year in Europe.
In addition, some time ago it was reported that the Ford Mondeo sedan will turn into an electric crossover. It should be emphasized that this car of the American company has become less popular than in the years of its heyday.
