Ford intends to make electric cars budgetNovember 4, 2020
The company wants to keep affordable prices for electric cars
The head of the Ford company said that the cost of future models with electric propulsion will be much more attractive than that of competitors.
In an interview with Wards Auto, the head of the concern, Jim Farley, said that Ford intends to make electric cars budget: according to the top manager, the cost of future Ford electric models will range from $ 20,000 to $ 70,000. To date, the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover is priced at $ 42,895 for the base version and up to $ 58,300 for the top-end First Edition.
It turns out that, compared to its closest competitor, Tesla, Ford electric cars will be much more budgetary. The business will not be limited to light electric cars – this month the commercial E-Transit van with an electric power plant will be declassified, and in the future it will be joined by the F-150 EV electric pickup. According to Farley, its cost will also not exceed $ 70 thousand, which is cheaper than the most affordable version of the GMC Hummer EV pickup, which will be released only in 2024.
