Ford has posted a video with Focus ST climbing on Goodwood Hill.July 15, 2019
The Goodwood Festival of Speed this year was very intense for the American brand Ford, which brought back a lot of modernized cars, among which is an updated version of the “charged” Focus ST.
Since this is a model with a more powerful engine and more productive parts (suspension, brakes) that wants to make itself known in the compact segment, it simply had to drive the legendary Goodwood estate (UK).
The corresponding video, which recorded the passage of the car track appeared on the web.
Admittedly, the new Focus ST sounds very good. However, there is one catch here, because it has an artificial noise generator, which many other automakers have used extensively in recent years. But still, the American “charged” car is a very good front-wheel drive hatchback.
The new ST develops a speed of 100 km / h in less than 6 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 250 km / h. This version of the model uses a gasoline engine EcoBoost family, a working volume of 2.3 liters and an output of 280 hp. (420 Nm of torque).
The diesel version of the high-performance hatchback is a bit slower, as it takes 7.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, and its maximum speed drops to the 220 km / h mark. This is because such a car is significantly less powerful, since its 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine produces “only” 190 hp. and has a maximum torque of 400 Nm. But the car has the same speed habits, as well as more economical fuel consumption.
