Ford found curious grill patents on the webJune 8, 2020
Will there be new design elements on cars and trucks of the American brand and how soon – it’s too early to judge. We look forward to more details in the coming weeks when the new F-150 debuts.
Ford is actively preparing the launch of two new models – the revived Bronco and the next-generation F-150. However, this is not the only thing the brand does. For example, Ford Authority discovered cryptic grille patents on the website of the US Patent and Trademark Office.
All four are currently awaiting examination. Will we see them on new models, time will tell. One of the grilles gets a mesh pattern in the spirit of the original Escape and other SUVs of the early 2000s, including Explorer.
The second grille receives four horizontal slats framed by a pair of vertical air intakes. Such a design could well debut at a Ford pickup. The fact that something similar could be found on the 12th generation F-150 model led to such thoughts of experts.
A third grill may be reserved for the SUV. This is hinted at by its outline, sending us all to the same “pre-reform” Ford Explorer. The sides of the grill are placed at an angle and therefore, most likely, it will not have anything to do with the F-150. On this model and its derivatives it is more logical to see a more vertical configuration.
The last grille is distinguished by C-shaped tips, which makes it similar to the actual F-250. She got a very dense frame and three horizontal bars. It is possible that it was created for a pickup truck.
It is not at all necessary that Ford uses these developments on any of its car innovations, since not everything that the company registers as a trademark reaches the conveyor.
