Ford F-150 Tremor pickup prototype spotted in testsOctober 27, 2020
The American company brought an updated pickup truck for tests.
Ford unveiled the new F-150 as its 2021 model last summer. It did not receive a significant styling update, but the company paid special attention to the technical part. It’s amazing how Ford manages to remain the dominant pickup seller. The new pickup also offers an opportunity for additional, sportier options, as evidenced by a new batch of spy photos showing that Ford is working on just that.
No, this is not a new Raptor. Instead, it’s a new Tremor pickup package that will sit just below the Raptor but above the FX4 in the lineup. It should offer the same upgrade in both looks and performance as the F-250 Tremor. The photos show a red, partially camouflaged pickup with raised suspension, unique wheels and dual exhaust – the first time we’ve seen on an updated F-150.
The camouflage doesn’t seem to hide any important exterior details specific to the Tremor, although the truck does look like it has a unique grille. Another indication that this F-150 is 275/70 R18 tires. The biggest update is likely to be the redesigned suspension, which will translate into increased ride height and greater wading depth.
We don’t know which Ford powertrain will pair with the Tremor package. The novelty can get a naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V6, two EcoBoost V6 2.7- or 3.5-liter engines, and also a 5.0-liter V8, diesel and hybrid. The F-150 Tremor should serve as a good intermediate model for those who don’t want to pay for the Raptor. The F-150 Tremor may appear as early as this year.
