The American concern announced the beginning of a revitalized company that will affect the models of Everest and Ranger SUVs of 2018 produced. The cause of the recall campaign was a possible malfunction with the steering.
Australian division of Ford has received many complaints from the owners of new SUVs Everest and Ranger in 2018 release. Drivers regularly complained of various malfunctions or problems with the steering. As experts have found out – an intermediate pulley of a steering shaft can not correspond to the specification, and can lead to a detachment of a steering column from the steering mechanism.
Thus, now on the Australian market will be a revocable campaign 207 Ford Ranger and 81 Everest. Will it later spread to markets in other countries – is unknown.
Naturally, all owners will be notified of the forced visit to the dealer center. Also on the local portal will be published a list of VIN-codes for all recalled vehicles, which can be viewed independently.
As part of the recall campaign, the dealer steering service will be diagnosed and a complete replacement of the intermediate pulley. All work will be performed solely at the expense of the automaker, and if necessary, a long delay in the car for repairs will be issued substitution.
At the moment there are no recorded cases of accidents or injuries as a result of the detected malfunction. Representatives of the company noted that all the detected malfunctions will be eliminated in the very near future.
Recall, more recently, in May 2018, Ford for the second time updated the global model of the medium-sized pickup Ranger. The first market for the updated model was Australia.
It also became known that the Nissan NV200 minivan will no longer be used in the New York taxi, instead of it, the city’s motor-car park will be replenished with the Ford Transit Connect minivan and the Ford Fusion sedan.
