Ford dealer delivers off-road version Ranger RaptorJuly 16, 2019
Since the Raptor high-performance pickup truck Raptor is not available to US residents, one of the company’s dealers has created its own version of the truck, which can even compete with the original Raptor.
Ford introduced the compact pickup Ranger in a more powerful performance Raptor in Australia more than a year ago, and a few months later brought this car to Europe. Despite the fact that journalists have seen test prototypes of Ranger Raptor in North America several times – this machine is not available there, still there have not been any official statements about the start of sales in the USA
In the meantime, some Ford dealers in the United States have come up with their own version of the Ranger pickup, which is most similar to the Raptor brand performance.
As a basis for the project, the XLT equipment in the Super Crew body (four doors) was taken, then optional packages for towing and off-road FX4 were added.
Let’s start with the most obvious changes – the standard false radiator grille has been replaced, it is very similar to the one that is equipped with the Ranger Raptor. The one here, then there are some graphic stickers of the body, which additionally indicate that this is not a standard version of the pickup.
Some real hardware changes were also introduced. Front lift suspension is matched with Fox 2.0 rear shock absorbers, and Toyo 33-inch off-road tires for custom black wheels. Added factory steps, a steel stand, a custom exhaust pipe, tinted front windows and a matte black film on the back door. The Baja Ranger pickup also comes bundled with the Ford Performance Toolkit package, all-weather OEM mats.
So far, built two copies of the Ranger Baja, equipped with a standard four-cylinder engine EcoBoost. One of them costs 41,995 dollars while the other is better equipped and, therefore, a bit more expensive – 42,590 dollars. New items come with a three-year warranty or 57,936 km.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the Ford Mondeo will be replaced by a new global crossover. Ford is preparing a significant reform of its lineup for Europe. In the near future, the Europeans will be left without three Ford models at once, which will be replaced by a new universal cross.
