Ford decided to retire the European versions of the C-Max and Grand C-Max. In this regard, the release of two minivans at the plant in Saarlouis will be stopped, which will lead to another reduction of workers in Germany.
Ford is actively trying to adapt to the current market. Therefore, one can observe a number of serious changes and rather drastic decisions. At this time, it became known about the decision to stop production of two models of minivans C-Max and Grand C-Max. These cars were presented to the European market, and their production was established at the company’s German plant in Saarlouis. At the moment, the company is communicating with the workers’ union to find the possibility of reducing the number of workers to a minimum.
The company noted: “We officially confirm that we have entered into formal negotiations with our production council to discuss the termination of the release of C-Max / Grand C-Max in Saarlouis. We were led to this decision by the need to harmonize the model line with consumer demand. The consultation process will also include the necessary labor adjustments. ”
At present, 6,190 people work at the Ford plant in Germany. The company plans to reduce about 1,600 workers, reducing the number of shifts from three to two.
Also note that Ford loves its line of pickup trucks and constantly offers unique versions. Thus, the limited series F-150 Limited has become the second fastest truck in the world.
