Ford begins serial production of the Bronco Sport crossover

The American automaker has announced the start of production of the revived Bronco SUV in Sport version. Then the full-size Bronco will also get on the conveyor.

The announcement of the return of the iconic SUV of the last century, the Ford Bronco, caused incredible jubilation among the brand’s fans. More than 100,000 people have already pre-ordered the car, the serial production of which will begin only at the beginning of next year. Meanwhile, assembly of the smaller Bronco Sport began on October 26, 2020.

Like the regular Bronco, the Bronco Sport version is designed to offer the same off-road performance as its big brother in a smaller and more affordable body.

The car is available in a variety of trim levels, including Base (starting MSRP $ 26,000), Big Bend ($ 28,160), Outer Banks ($ 32,160), Badlands ($ 32,660), and First Edition ($ 38,500). It is noteworthy that the exclusive First Edition is already completely sold out. Among other things, the Bronco Sport will receive steel wheels, special off-road tires, an advanced all-wheel drive system, more off-road suspension and skid plates.

The Bronco Sport will be available with two engine options. Base, Big Bend and Outer Banks trim levels will come with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 181bhp. (257 Nm). Those opting for the Badlands and First Edition will get a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 245 hp. (372 Nm). Both power plants will be connected to an 8-speed “automatic” – the Badlands and First Edition models will come with paddle shifters.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the tuners will prepare a special version of the Ford Bronco. Ford Bronco was presented to the public only recently, the novelty will be offered in 2- and 4-door versions, six trim levels and 11 body shades.
