Ford again patented ExcursionMay 3, 2020
The production of the large Ford Excursion SUV was discontinued 15 years ago, but now the American corporation suddenly again remembered this name and again patented it.
Large SUVs and crosses with 3 rows of seats are becoming popular, most likely for this reason the American concern decided to patent the Excursion trademark – the US Patent Office on Sunday, May 3, the corresponding patent application of the corporation was registered. The patent will make it possible to use the trademark for the model name of a car, SUVs, pickups and electric cars.
Probably Ford was thinking about releasing a top-of-the-line SUV, which could become the successor to the big Excursion. There is no information on the size of the upcoming new product, but it is unlikely that it will get similar engines: the SUV, which was produced in 1999 – 2005, had under its hood petrol power units V8 with a volume of 5.4 liters and V10 by 6.8 liters, and several more diesel engines V8 engines at 6.0 and 7.3 liters.
Excursion is developed on the basis of the F-250/350 Super Duty pickup truck, which has a side member and continuous bridges with suspension on leaf springs.
In addition, a teaser of the new Ford Puma ST has recently been distributed on the Internet. Sales of new items should start at the end of this year.
