Ford adds luxury to the Expedition SUVSeptember 26, 2019
Ford began selling the Expedition model in the King Ranch special configuration. Premium performance differs from the usual full-size SUV in the external decor and high-quality leather in the cabin. Prices for the top version of Expedition are comparable to the base cost of the Cadillac Escalade.
Outside, the Expedition King Ranch stands out with matte gray accents on the grille, bumpers, rearview mirrors, footrests, tow hitch cover and trunk mounts. In addition, the top version features original 22-inch six-spoke aluminum alloy wheels and King Ranch brand emblems.
The King Ranch version is named after the Texas-based ranch of the same name, founded in 1853. According to the developers, King Ranch symbolizes the hard work of Americans in cattle breeding.
The interior of the royal Expedition features unique lining in high-quality Del Rio leather with Kingsville contrast stitching and Ziricote veneer. The seats are decorated with perforated inserts with King Ranch logos on the backs. By default, the Expedition King Ranch has a seven-seat cabin configuration with a pair of “captain’s” seats on the second row.
Technically, the King Ranch is identical to the usual Expedition: under the hood, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 381 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The unit is paired with an automatic 10-speed gearbox. The drive is full.
The last time Ford released the King Ranch special edition for the Expedition line from 2014 to 2017. The release of luxury equipment was completed two years ago – in September 2017. Prices for the Expedition King Ranch 2020 start at $ 74,290, while the “regular” full-size SUV is priced at $ 53,000.
