For the BMW Z4 Roadster prepared a tuning kit with a five-year warrantyDecember 1, 2019
AC Schnitzer workshop ready to finalize BMW Z4 version M40i
German studio AC Schnitzer has released a set of improvements for the third-generation BMW Z4. A complete tuning package includes boosting the engine, replacing shock absorbers and springs, installing new body kit elements and low-profile tires. So far, firmware is available only for the top version of the Z4 with a three-liter engine.
The modernization of the Z4 M40i is no different from the refinement of the co-platform Toyota Supra GR: the roadster’s power can be increased from 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque to 400 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The increase is achieved by chip tuning the engine and replacing the regular exhaust with a sports one. You can choose the carbon design of the exhaust system or the installation of double black pipes.
Changing the body panels comes down to adding a small two-section rear wing, side skirts, a front splitter and bonnet vents. Inside, the AC Schnitzer product highlights the touches: pedals and transmission selector, as well as a special stand for the left leg.
For better handling and lowering the center of gravity, AC Schnitzer proposes to equip the roadster with an adjustable RS suspension, which reduces ground clearance by 25 millimeters. There is a more affordable option with shortened springs and a fixed underestimation of the front axle by 25-35 millimeters, the rear axle – by 20-30 millimeters. The intervention in the chassis is completed by replacing the standard wheels with Hankook low-profile tires with dimensions 255/30 R20 at the front and 275/30 R20 at the rear. Choose from custom two-tone alloy or forged AC wheels.
The bonus of the German studio is that a five-year warranty is maintained for the entire tuning. The first Z4 client in the AC Schnitzer tuning will appear next spring. By this time, motorists from Aachen promises to complete work on flashing the less powerful Z4 sDrive20i and Z4 sDrive30i roadsters with two-liter turbo fours.
