Five days ago, the wheels were first removed from the new Corvette. Now they are trying to sell them on FacebookJanuary 28, 2020
Chevrolet Corvette C8 kit ads appear on social networks
Not even a week has passed since the unknown “rambled up” the new eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette in Detroit, as the kit’s sale announcements appeared on Facebook. Moreover, in one of the publications there are no photographs and a clearly inflated price of 100 thousand dollars is indicated, and in the second – only 500 dollars.
The incident with Corvette caused a resonance in many respects because the shipment of cars has not actually begun yet, so it is almost impossible to meet such cars on the street. It is even more difficult to find parts or, as in this case, wheels. Therefore, the announcement of the sale of the factory kit from the Corvette C8, published on the Facebook Marketplace, attracted the attention of users.
It can be assumed that the kidnappers of the wheels did not assume that they came across a very rare car. It is not entirely clear who posted the ads on Facebook – the thieves themselves or the new owner of the kit, who bought it from hand. One way or another, the local police have to figure out the circumstances of this story.
The eighth generation Corvette was shown last summer. For the first time in 60 years, the model has become mid-engined: a 502-horsepower V8 engine with a working volume of 6.2 liters was installed behind the backs of the seats. Prices for the new product at the pre-order stage start from 60 thousand dollars which is five thousand more expensive than the pre-reform Corvette.
