Renders of the alleged electric car with the appearance of the legendary Volkswagen Beetle shared portal Motor1. Despite the cessation of production of the Volkswagen Beetle, many fans of the brand do not stop fantasizing about the return of the car to the market. Some of the concepts of Volkswagen itself speak of the movement in the direction of retro cars.
So, in 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show, the concept of an electric buggy was shown, made in the style of the Meyer Manx model of the 1960s, which, in turn, was built on the basis of the Beetle. At the same time, the concept of an electric minibus ID.Buzz, made in the style of the Transporter T1, was also shown in Frankfurt last year.
According to experts, Volkswagen is not stopping to revive the Beetle on the modern MEB platform as an electric car. The platform will not impose any restrictions on the designers, and the filling and concept can be borrowed from the Volkswagen ID.3 – rear-wheel drive, one electric motor and a battery with a power reserve of 350-400 kilometers. Unfortunately, no confirmation of the information about the imminent return of the Beetle has been received.
