Fiat showed a three-dimensional layout of the new coupe-shaped crossoverAugust 20, 2019
Fastback cross-coupe will compete with Renault Arkana. His debut was planned for the end of 2020.
The Italian company Fiat showed a three-dimensional scale model of its future Fastback cross coupe. The basis for this car, which is intended for the South American market, was the Toro pickup. With a real coupe-like crossover will be able to get acquainted only at the end of next year. The brand first showed its cross with a sloping roof in November 2018 at the motor show in Sao Paulo. Judging by the layout, the appearance of the serial Fastback will be identical to the conceptual model, with the difference that commodity cars still get the necessary “functionality”: door handles, rear-view mirrors and exhaust systems.
In length, the concept car reached a mark of 4.6 meters, its width was two meters and its height was 1.61 meters. After entering the series, the cross will already be 16 centimeters. This will allow him to stand on the FCA Small-Wide Architecture platform with a supporting body.
According to forecasts by auto experts, over time, this cross-coupe can get the status of a global model and will replace the Freemont minivan in emerging markets, which has not caused much interest among buyers. There is no information on the technical equipment of the news yet. It is possible that the base engines Fastback can “peep” at Toro, which in Brazil is one of the bestsellers of the brand, despite its “expensive” price tag. If the brand sets a competitive price for Fastback, then the novelty may become the most sought-after Fiat model in the South American market.
