Ferrari’s first production convertible in 50 years – 812 GTSSeptember 10, 2019
Not so long ago there was information about a new Italian company. The Ferrari 812 GTS will be the most powerful serial convertible in the world.
The Italian company Ferrari after the presented F8 Spider roadster announced another new product. Sports car convertible 812 GTS created on the basis of 812 Superfast. The GTS is considered the fastest serial convertible. Under its hood is a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 789 horsepower. For comparison: the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ roadster motor produces 759 horsepower and 718 Nm of torque. The novelty is also more powerful than the 755-horsepower convertible Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
Maximum power is achieved at 8500 rpm, but the engine can spin up to 8900 rpm. Full torque is already available at 7000 rpm, and 85% of the torque at 3000 rpm. The Ferrari 812 GTS accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in less than three seconds. 8.3 seconds is enough to gain 200 km / h. The maximum speed is the same as that of the coupe version – 340 km / h.
The convertible comes with an electric folding roof. It folds / unfolds in just 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 km / h. True, as in the case of other convertibles, this installation required reinforcement of the chassis, which added 75 kg to the mass of the car.
It is worth noting that the 812 GTS is the only production version of the V12 Spider released in the last 50 years. During this time, such versions have already been released, but they were limited.
