Ferrari will present a new hybrid supercar in 2019February 18, 2019
The new supercar of the Ferrari company, equipped with a hybrid power plant, will be presented in 2019. About this told the head of the Italian brand Louis Camillero.
The novelty will receive a combined power plant based on the V8 engine, which will be paired with an electric motor. The aggregate output of the units will exceed the power of the 488 Pista supercar, equipped with a 3.9-liter supercharged “eight”, issuing 720 hp. and 770 Nm of torque.
The use of an auxiliary electric motor will improve the dynamic characteristics, but at the same time split up the increase in fuel economy and reduce the amount of harmful emissions. In addition, a car with an eight-cylinder engine should become a much more profitable model than more costly supercars with V12, such as the 812 Superfast.
The novelty will be the second hybrid in the history of Ferrari. The first was the model LaFerrari, introduced in 2013. Ferrari LaFerrari and its open version Aperta are equipped with a 963-strong hybrid installation, which included a 6.3-liter V12 engine, an electric unit, a set of lithium-ion batteries and a seven-step “robot” with two clutches. Ferrari LaFerrari is able to accelerate to 100 km / h in three seconds, and its maximum speed is limited to 350 km per hour.
In about three years, Ferrari will present its first crossover, which is still known as Purosangue. The model will be designed to compete with the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga. In addition, after 2022 the Italians should have the first all-electric supercar.
