Ferrari tests sports car 812 SuperfastJune 16, 2020
The novelty will receive a high-performance V12.
After the test mule of the future Italian-made hybrid model was spotted during testing, the company also began testing the hardcore version 812 Superfast. The prototype was seen in Italy on the Ferrari-owned Fiorano circuit near Maranello.
The test car is painted black and has a more powerful rear diffuser, as well as excellent sound compared to another car. The details of the new 812th remain a mystery, but it is likely that the talented Ferrari engineers have found a way to squeeze more power out of the 6.5-liter engine.
The naturally aspirated V12 puts out a whopping 800 horsepower and 718 Newton meters of torque in the “standard” 812 Superfast, so anything above these numbers will become a “cherry on the cake.” According to rumors, the number of revolutions per minute on a modernized engine can be increased over the current 8,900, although this remains to be seen.
Another puzzle is connected with the name of the car, as it is rumored that he will receive the prefix “GTO”. The “hardcore” 812 Superfast will be the fourth modification of the model after the regular version, Monza SP1 and SP2 and the 812 GTS convertible.
In addition to a possible sharp increase in power, the hotter 812 Superfast should also have a revised body structure with improved aerodynamics and improved cooling. Weight loss through the use of more carbon fiber also allows you to remove a little weight compared to the weight of a conventional model – 1,525 kg.
