Ferrari is testing a prototype of a silent supercarApril 2, 2018
The Italian brand is testing a new modification of the model 488, which will receive a hybrid power plant and a kinetic energy recovery system
On the Internet published a video, which shows the test of a new version of the supercar Ferrari 488, which, allegedly, is equipped with a hybrid power plant. In the video, the car accelerates on the Fiorano test track using electric traction – almost in total silence.
According to preliminary data, the hybrid plant will include an internal combustion engine V8, working in tandem with the electric unit and the kinetic energy recovery system during braking KERS.
The first hybrid supercar Ferrari appeared in 2013, when the Italians introduced the model LaFerrari. It was equipped with a 963-hp combined unit, which included a 6.3-liter V12 engine, an electric unit, a set of lithium-ion batteries and a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches. Ferrari LaFerrari can accelerate to 100 km / h in three seconds, and its maximum speed is limited to 350 km per hour.
The latest innovation of Ferrari was a new version of the supercar 488, which received the prefix Pista in the title. The coup was completed with a modified 3.9-liter V8 engine with two turbines, developing 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque. A more powerful engine and a reduced mass will allow the 488 Pista coupe to accelerate from place to 100 km/h in 2.85 seconds – 0.2 seconds faster than the 488 GTB.
