Ferrari is preparing to release a new convertible based on the model 812November 21, 2018
Ferrari supercars with V12 engines rarely combine with the cabriolet body, but it seems that the Italian stable still prepares a surprise for its fans in the form of a roadster based on the 812 Superfast.
Judging by the latest insider information, the new supercar, in contrast to the exclusive fully open Monza models, is planning to make a hinged roof with a rigid structure, similar to that used on the 488 Spider and Portfolio models.
The convertible should get the same engine as the base for the 812th coupe model – that is, 6.5-liter V12 with 789 hp. and 718 Nm of torque. This is the most powerful aspirated ever offered on production models of Ferrari.
The motor works with a 7-speed automatic transmission with dual clutch, and allows the Superfast model to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds at a maximum speed of 340 km / h.
The main question is how many versions of the roadster is going to release Ferrari, since the above-mentioned predecessors were produced in limited series and with an overpriced price. In any case, the first convertible based on the 812 Superfast will be shown in early 2019.
