On the basis of a supercar from Maranello built a retro-coupe Touring Superleggera Aero 3

Milan’s Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has unveiled its new Aero 3. The world premiere of a Ferrari-powered Berlinetta will take place at the Salon Prive elegance competition at Blenheim Palace on the outskirts of Woodstock, England, from 23 to 26 September.

The two-door Touring Superleggera Aero 3 is a tribute to its own history, the company says. Its design is based on the look of 1930s streamliners: the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Berlinetta Aerodinamica and the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Touring Coupé – these machines are still considered the benchmarks of aerodynamics and beauty. At the same time, the Aero 3, unlike the Disco Volante, is not dedicated to a specific car, but to an entire era, although the first copy had to be made similar to the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Speciale Tipo Le Mans 1938 at the client’s request.[IP]&ua=[UA]&domain=[DOMAIN]&page=[PAGE]&secure=[SECURE]&language=[BROWSER_LANGUAGE]&bidfloor=[BIDFLOOR]&gdpr_consent=[GDPR_CONSENT]

Initially, it was assumed that the basis for the Aero 3 will be the modern Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, but now journalists say that the coupe is built on the Ferrari GTC4Lusso chassis. Under the original body in Stratosphere Red is a naturally aspirated V12 6.3, producing 740 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque – and this is already similar to the performance of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which boasts an acceleration to 100 in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 340 kilometers per hour.

Foglizzo leather (in the company’s portfolio of more than 90 automotive projects, and she collaborates, including with Pininfarina and Garage Italia), Alcantara and carbon fiber are used in the interior decoration of Berlinetta. The list of equipment includes four-point seat belts and two custom-made racing helmets. At the same time, the next two cars will be configured completely differently, according to Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, and the total circulation of Aero 3 will not exceed 15 copies.

The last work of the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera was the Sciàdipersi convertible, built on the Maserati GranCabrio chassis. It differs from the donor with a new body with a pointed front end and a Kamma tail at the rear, as well as an interior trimmed with chocolate and cream leather with orange stitching. The inspiration for the car was the luxurious Maserati 5000GT of the Persian Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi.
