Ferrari Castagna Rossellini put up for saleNovember 8, 2019
The Italian auction house Aste Bolaffi in mid-November will hold the sale of youngtimers and collectible cars. Among the lots of Classic Cars, Youngtimers & Memorabilia Auction will be the Rossellini barquette of the Carrozzeria Castagna tailor shop. This is a layout that was estimated at 10-20 thousand euros
A full-size model of Castagna Rossellini was presented in 2003 at the Villa d’Este Elegance Contest. Barquette was dedicated to director Roberto Rossellini, a passionate collector and fan of Ferrari. That is why the chassis of the racing 550 Maranello with a 720-horsepower V12 of 6.0 liters was considered as the basis of the two-door. Rossellini’s stylistic feature is a double-bubble roof, “thrown” onto the cockpit.
The modern Carrozzeria Castagna dates back to 1994. The company that preceded it lasted from 1849 to 1954 and earned a reputation as an atelier that served movie stars and members of royal families.
One of the latest atelier projects is the two-door Porsche Panamera Vistotal. The inspiration for the car will serve as an experimental 1967 Lamborghini Marzal, in particular, its huge doors such as “gull wing”.
A little earlier, Italians showed how an all-terrain station wagon Audi A8 allroad could look. Details about him were not reported, but hinted that the roof is supposed to be built up using a frame made of aluminum and carbon fiber.
