Ferrari boosts pandemic relief
April 21, 2020Ferrari executives made a series of decisions aimed at expanding the program to help the Italian healthcare system combat the Covid-19 pandemic. For these purposes, an additional € 2 million is allocated, which will be used to finance the specific needs of municipalities such as Maranello, Fiorano and Formigine.
In particular, sets of diagnostic equipment and necessary supplies will be purchased for conducting rapid tests for coronavirus for the Modena clinic and two other hospitals located in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Also, another ambulance was handed over to the Modena Health Department, which will be used by the local volunteer organization AVAP, which actively helps professional doctors.
For schools in three cities in the region, computer equipment is purchased: laptops, tablets and other devices that allow you to set up an online learning system. And in Maranello, Ferrari also pays for meals for families in difficult economic situations.
In the coming weeks, company management will announce new initiatives aimed at supporting the region. The assistance program is financed through a fund that receives funds transferred by the president, executive director and members of the Ferrari board, who donated 25% of their salaries for nine months from April to December 2020.
