According to the latest statistics, the American market in February 2019 decreased by 3% compared to the same period last year. A total of 1,268,571 passenger cars were sold over the past month.
Despite the fact that the US market in February decreased by 2.9%, sales are still impressive and amounted to 1,268,571 passenger cars, and during the first two months of 2019, 2,401,843 cars were sold on the local market, which represented a drop in sales of 2.6% compared to the same reporting period for 2018.
According to the presented data from the local statistical and analytical agency Automotive News Data Center, it became known that the General Motors concern remains the market leader, having managed to sell 209,203 cars. Nevertheless, the company’s sales decreased by 5.3%. The second place remains for the truly American company Ford, whose sales fell by 4.4% and amounted to 184,811 cars. Toyota closes the top three with sales of 172,748 units (-5.2%).
The report also noted that the fourth result showed Fiat Chrysler Group – 162961 cars, which is 2.3% lower than a year ago. Honda still closes the top five – last month American dealers of the brand sold 115,139 cars (-0.4%).
