FCA invests in the production of electric cars Fiat 500e 700 million eurosJuly 12, 2019

The FCA Group is going to invest a large amount (according to media reports, this is about 700 million euros) in the construction of a new production line at the Mirafiori head plant in Turin. It is this company, as Reuters agency reports, that in the second quarter of 2020, it will begin production of the second generation electric car Fiat 500e. The company plans to produce about 80 thousand of these “green” cars annually.
It is known that the plant has already installed the first device on the line for the assembly of a new electric vehicle.
The electric Fiat 500 should turn out to be extremely competitive. Its main advantages will be versatility, original style and following the traditions of Fiat. The new electric car will have to compete with the Mini and Smart. Also, autoexperts call Volkswagen up!, Skoda Citigo, Nissan Leaf and others as competitors for the Fiat 500e.
Earlier, MINI showed its first serial electric car Cooper SE. The basis of the new concept was taken MINI Electric Concept, debuted back in the 2017th.
