FCA introduced the updated multimedia Uconnect 5January 27, 2020
According to representatives of the Italian-American concern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the updated version of the Uconnect 5 infotainment system significantly increased the speed of work. Now you can wirelessly work with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and much more.
“The most advanced infotainment system ever used in automobiles” – these are the words that the press service of the Italian-American concern FCA announces Uconnect 5. Award-winning, Android-based multimedia will be available for all FCA models, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Maserati, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Abarth.
User Experience (UX) is one of the main updates in Uconnect 5. Due to the higher processing speed of all commands, the updated Uconnect promises better user experience along with improved graphics and the ability to customize the interface for you.
The increased speed of the system is achieved using the updated 50K MIP chip, 6 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of flash memory, which allows the completely new Uconnect 5 to operate at speeds that are five times higher compared to the previous generation.
It should be noted that the system can store up to five user profiles, and also has a special valet mode and quick access to frequently used applications. Uconnect 5 also introduces wireless users with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a pretty useful feature for cars equipped with wireless charging.
In addition to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Alexa Home-to-Car feature is also available, which will now include Alexa’s virtual assistant with natural voice support – engineers have significantly improved voice recognition. Uconnect 5 also allows you to simultaneously connect two devices to the system via Bluetooth.
