Facelifted flagship sedan Cadillac CT6 received a charged version V8

Company Cadillac has updated the flagship sedan CT6 and replenished the lineup of the model with a charged modification of V-Sport. It debuted the first in the history of the brand eight-cylinder engine with two turbochargers, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

The gasoline engine developed from scratch has a volume of 4.2 liters and is equipped with a pair of turbines with a double impeller (located in the collapse of the unit) and an electronically controlled bypass valve, as well as two intercoolers, a cylinder shut-off system and a lubrication system with an electric pump.

The output of the unit is 557 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. On civil modifications (not from the V-Sport line), the engine’s power will be reduced to 500 forces and 750 Nm of torque.

The equipment Cadillac CT6 V-Sport will include a unique 20-inch wheels, special summer tires designed specifically for the model, a mechanical self-locking differential on the rear axle, reconfigured suspension, a Brembo braking system with 483-millimeter wheels and four-piston calipers, as well as a reprogrammed amplifier steering and shock absorbers with electronic control. In addition, the charged sedan will be equipped with an exhaust system with active dampers.

The option with track settings appears in the list of available control electronics modes. It will change the algorithms of operation of the rear swivel wheels, active shock absorbers, distribution of the torque between the axles, the stabilization system and the volume of the exhaust.

The updated flagship sedans will be equipped with a refined multimedia system with a 10-inch touchscreen display with FullHD resolution, which can now be controlled with a joystick on the central tunnel with an integrated touch panel, as well as induction charging for smartphones, a 4G LTE add-on point, an entertainment system for the rear passengers and highway autopilot Super Cruise.

Externally from previous machines updated CT6 differs with new lighting equipment and updated bumpers, another grille and a lid of a modified form of luggage.
