Extended SsangYong XLV to be available in Europe as Tivoli GrandFebruary 2, 2021
The names SsangYong uses for their models sometimes differ depending on the country where they are sold. The youngest of the names, XLV, arrives in Europe as the Tivoli Grand.
SsangYong unveiled an updated version of Tivoli in South Korea in mid-2019. This model was later debuted in a European version. We have not yet seen the extended “brother” of the Tivoli model, XLV, in an updated form. Up to this day.
Unsurprisingly, the updated SsangYong XLV will get the same front fascia as the restyled Tivoli. The XLV is, by its very nature, nothing more than a 25 cm long Tivoli with a large trunk of 720 liters (+293 liters). SsangYong has renamed the XLV crossover Tivoli Grand, making its connection to Tivoli in the European market more understandable. In South Korea, the XLV has been known from the beginning as a member of the Tivoli family: there it is simply called Tivoli Air.
The Tivoli Grand crossover differs from the XLV with a more prominent rear bumper. The interior has changed just like the regular Tivoli, meaning that inside the Tivoli Grand also features a redesigned dashboard, complete with a new center console and a digital instrument set with a different hood. The center console screen measures 9 inches.
Either way, the Tivoli Grand enters the market with a turbocharged 1.5 four-cylinder petrol engine producing 163 hp. This power source can be linked to a manual 6-speed transmission as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission.
