The British company Eagle E-Type has pleased fans of classic British sports cars with a new model – the stylish and elegant coupe E-Type Lightweight GT.

Eagle E-Type was founded in 1984 by a group of Jaguar E-Type fans. Initially, she specialized in the restoration of the cult model, but some time later she began her own production of restodes based on the E-Type. So there were models Eagle Speedster, Low Drag GT and Spyder GT.

Now they have added a novelty, called Lightweight GT. It was created in memory of 12 copies of the 1963 lightweight racing Jaguar E-Type Lightweight, but unlike the eminent prototype, it is designed for everyday use on public roads.

Thanks to the use of light alloys and materials such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium and inconel, the curb weight of the machine is only 1017 kg.

Creating a car requires 8 thousand hours of manual work, of which 2500 hours are spent on making a copy of the body in the style of the original Jaguar E-Type Lightweight.

Under the swift hood is an atmospheric 4.7-liter inline six with three Weber carburetors. It develops power of 380 hp, and torque reaches 508 Nm. Paired with it is a 5-speed manual gearbox. According to the manufacturer, it takes less than 5 seconds to accelerate to the first “hundred”, and the maximum speed reaches 273 km / h.

The company also notes that the Lightweight GT differs from the classic E-Type in improved aerodynamics. To do this, the rear overhang and the area of the windshield were increased, and the new side panels of the body made it possible not only to place the seats lower, but also increased the rigidity of the structure. The wheel arches have been expanded so that they can accommodate 16-inch magnesium alloy wheels.

The car received a completely independent suspension of all wheels with Ohlins adjustable shock absorbers. To cope with a powerful and fast sports car, ventilated brake discs from AP Racing with a diameter of 280 mm will help.

The car will be produced in a limited edition for specific customers. The cost is not yet known, but judging by the company’s previous projects, the car will cost 750-800 thousand euros.
