Enthusiasts equipped Land Rover Defender with a motor from CorvetteJanuary 21, 2019
Now, the power of the legendary British SUV will be 525 hp. Prices are available on request only.
At present, the engineers of the British company Land Rover are working hard on the new generation of their off-road legend Defender, and until we see the novelty less than a year remains. Nevertheless, enthusiasts around the world are still obsessed with the idea of upgrading the original SUV. These are the guys from the Himalaya studio and decided to create a project based on this car.
The guys installed a powerful engine under its hood. On the replacement of the power unit changes do not end. A completely new dashboard with a new instrument cluster and Alpine touch screen with Apple CarPlay connectivity, as well as a set of Recaro leather seats, appeared in the cabin. Almost all are covered in black leather, and the rear seats have a two-tone color combination.
Let’s return to the engine of the SUV. Instead of a 4-cylinder engine, there is now a 6.3-liter V8 LS3 engine from the Corvette model with a capacity of 525 horsepower (671 Nm).
The installation is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which works with all-wheel drive system. The guys from Himalaya promise that the drivers “will not doubt the performance of an SUV when they get behind the wheel.”
The appearance of the British SUV has also changed. The car is equipped with Toyo Open Country 37-inch tires and 18-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels in black, contrasting with a matte matte gray body trim. The 4-inch suspension lift, which has also been replaced, gives it an enhanced stance.
