Energica sold more electric cycles in a month than in the whole of 2019February 27, 2020
2019 was a big disappointment for many manufacturers. Some have been hit harder by severe competition and market downturns (like Royal Enfield). Some others (for example, BMW and Suzuki) managed to finish the year at a positive level. Electric bike manufacturer Energica goes its own way. The company announced that since the beginning of 2020, it has already sold more equipment than in the whole of 2019.
The Italian company Energica began 2020 at high speeds. A few weeks ago, the manufacturer announced that pre-sales grew by 40% of the total in 2019. A few days ago, the number of pre-orders reached the level of last year. The exact amount is not reported. Most likely the numbers are not very large, but for a small company this is a great success. In cash equivalent, revenue is approximately 2.3 million euros.
“By releasing the 2020 range, we have improved driving performance and power, as well as reduced weight. Our bikes began to meet the needs of the market, as evidenced by the current history of orders. It took less than 8 weeks to repeat the numbers in 2019. In order to satisfy our customers and start deliveries as soon as possible (we expect at the end of April 2020), we have increased our domestic production thanks to the support of our network of partners, ”wrote General Director Livia Chevolini.
The company has significantly expanded its dealer network, adding new 59 representative offices around the world. Last year, became the official supplier to the MotoE World Cup. In general, the work is in full swing.
According to statistics from Unione Nazionale Rappresentanti Autoveicoli Esteri (UNRAE), electric motorcycle sales in Italy doubled in 2019 compared to 2018. In Europe, sales rose 97%.
At the end of 2020, Energica hopes to receive revenue of 6.5 million euros.
