Employee Tesla asleep while driving on autopilotJune 9, 2018
On the Internet, a video appeared, which shows a sleeping worker at the wheel of a Tesla factory worker riding a Model S electric car
A video appeared on the Internet showing how a Tesla Motors employee sleeps behind the wheel of a service electric car while riding with an active Autopilot semi-automatic control system. The video was marked on YouTube by the user Mike Cagulada.
The video was filmed in Fremont, California, where Tesla, the largest manufacturing company, is located. “Is this the autopilot of a new level or, perhaps, the car is completely autonomous?”, Asks the author in the description for the video.
At the end of May 2018, the Tesla Model S in the USA crashed into the police crossover Ford Explorer. At the same time, the driver of the Tesla said that his car was activated semi-automatically at the time of the accident. A similar accident involving the Tesla Model S occurred in the US state of Utah. The electric car, at the wheel of which was a woman, at a speed of about 100 km / h crashed into the car of the fire service. The motorist claimed that at the time of the accident an autopilot was involved in the electric car, and she herself was looking at the screen of the mobile phone.
In this case, the company Tesla Motors in the manual of the car emphasizes that the Autopilot system is an exceptionally auxiliary function. The driver must constantly keep his hands on the steering wheel, look at the road and be ready at any time to take control of himself.
