Elongated Jaguar XF L spotted on testsMay 12, 2020
Along with the standard versions of the XF sedan and station wagon, Jaguar is also working on a model with an extended wheelbase, which was recently seen in tests.
Most likely, the novelty will retain the name XF L. Judging by the pictures, the model will receive long rear doors and an increased wheelbase, which will increase the legroom for rear passengers. This feature is highly regarded among Chinese consumers for whom XF L. is made.
In terms of design changes, everything is expected to be the same as that of a conventional sedan, namely new bumpers, revised optics and, possibly, some changes in the grille and trunk lid. A more modern style should be complemented by an updated color palette and new wheels.
In all likelihood, the Jaguar XF 2021 model year, along with the XF Sportbrake station wagon and the extended XF L, will be able to boast a large number of updates in the cabin, with the main emphasis on new technologies. As a result, we should expect a new additional screen for the HVAC system, an updated infotainment system and dashboard, and possibly a new steering wheel. New upholstery and trim options are likely to complete the change.
We can also expect a modified engine range, which will include a 3.0-liter gasoline unit with Mild Hybrid technology, and the total output of the power plant will be 395 hp.
New from Jaguar will have to compete with the updated BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and Volvo S90. The debut of Jaguar XF and its extended version with the prefix “L” in the title is expected in the second half of 2020.
