Elon Musk mocked RAM pickupsApril 1, 2019
As usual, Elon Musk, the verbal battle unfolded on Twitter. One of the owners of the RAM pickup said that anyone would “blown away” if they had to carry 12,000 pounds (a little less than 5.5 tons) of steel beams, as this same owner does every day.
In response to this, Elon Musk noted that 12,000 pounds is somehow “fuzzy” for a pickup truck, and it seems that the author of the remark is engaged in making children’s toys. What, in fact, provoked a lively discussion.
Elon Musk plans to present a pick-up of his own design during 2019. There are few specific technical details about him: according to Musk himself, it is only known that he will receive a suspension that is able to automatically level the ground clearance under load, the powerplant with a “crazy” amount of torque and a power reserve of about 800 km. All this should be included in the standard pickup.
According to rumors, in terms of towing abilities, the Tesla pickup truck really has to surpass the competitors with gasoline or diesel engines on the market today. However, several pickups with electrical power plants are currently being prepared for sale at once – for example, the Rivian R1T or the Bollinger B2.
