Until recently, Tesla’s production plans for the next two years were quite transparent – the release of the Cybertruck pickup truck, the Semi tractor unit and the Roadster sports car.

The further future of the company was uncertain. Elon Musk made it clear – he tweeted that Tesla has plans to develop and release two new cars at once at factories in China and Germany. And these will be completely new models, not stripped-down versions of the Model 3.

During a speech at the recent Battery Day, the head of the company, Elon Musk, spoke about using the capacities of Tesla factories in Shanghai and Berlin to develop and manufacture new cars, about attracting local engineering and design talent, and then mentioned Tesla’s plans to develop two new models that will appear in these markets. To top it off, he announced the production of a budget electric car at a price of $ 25,000.

In a series of tweets yesterday, Musk confirmed that the $ 25,000 electric car will not be a cheaper version of the Model 3, but a standalone car, and that the company does have plans to release two new models, one in a factory in Shanghai and one in Berlin, – writes Electrek.

In addition, Tesla plans to build a development center in Berlin. Musk previously mentioned that the company is going to start production of small electric hatchbacks in Germany.

The exact timing of the appearance of new Tesla models in Berlin and Shanghai is not yet known, but Musk promised to show the electric car for $ 25,000 within three years.

Also at Battery Day, Musk talked about plans to integrate batteries into the structural elements of Tesla cars. This will solve several problems at once: the body will become stronger, the probability of battery breakdown as a result of a collision will decrease, and most importantly, such cars will cost less, since assembly will be simplified by about 370 parts.
