Elite cars from Vietnam: VinFast conquers the world with a sedan and crossover

Vietnamese company VinFast unveiled the first images of the sedan and crossover, the premiere of which will be held on October 2 at the Paris Motor Show. The manufacturer positions them in the premium segment!

About unknown until recently the car manufacturer from Vietnam we was told in detail in July. Recall that this venture was founded by the first Vietnamese dollar billionaire Fam Nyat Vyong, a graduate of the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute. He made his fortune on instant noodles and real estate, after which he turned his attention to the auto industry.

The development of a new industry for the entrepreneur Vyonga was prompted by the current strategy of the concern General Motors, which involves curtailing activities in non-key markets, which include Vietnam. GM gladly sold its plant to Hanoi (the capital of Vietnam) for the production of Chevrolet cars and promised to help with technology. Among the partners of VinFast are also called AVL, Bosch and Magna. In August, VinFast announced the joint production of electric buses in Vietnam with Siemens, and last week – on cooperation with LG Chem: Koreans will help the Vietnamese establish lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.

By 2025, VinFast plans to produce 500,000 cars per year, and the first-born will be the sedan and crossover, which will premiere on October 2 in Paris. Before, the Vietnamese showed only sketches of these models, developed in the contest by the world’s leading design studios. This competition was won by the famous Italian studio ItalDesign (now owned by the VW concern), but for some reason the exhibition machines were manufactured by the equally famous Italian studio Pininfarina (part of the Indian car concern Mahindra & Mahindra).

The living sedan and crossover are very similar to the proportions of the BMW 5-Series sedan and the BMW X5 crossover, but they have a lot of original parts that should embody the VinFast brand philosophy: “Vietnamese, stylish, safe, inventive, pioneer (in the sense of breakthrough).” The official pictures show the proprietary design of the fore and aft with a V-neck and an asymmetric bobbin lining, in which the letter F can be seen without imagination. This way, there are the caps of the VinFast brand on the body, and for the sake of persuasiveness, entirely.

The technical stuffing of Vietnamese cars has not yet been reported: maybe it’s electric vehicles of their own design, but maybe in their bowels are Ji-Emov knots and aggregates. Our correspondents plan to visit the Paris Motor Show and will certainly glance at the VinFast booth to get to know the sedan and crossover closer. The manufacturer himself positions them in the premium segment and plans to sell them all over the world.
