Electric sedan BMW i4 went to winter testsFebruary 11, 2021
The BMW i4 returns to northern Europe for a new series of winter tests, and spy photos show the sedan’s “new face” and details. Light camouflage is a logical step for the manufacturer four months before the world premiere.
Prototypes of the new 2022 BMW i4 returned to northern Europe, where in winter 2019 the German company confirmed the development and production of this sports sedan. The zero-emission sedan is an alternative to the new BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe and is already on the verge of being publicized.
BMW has already revealed a teaser in which it has announced a worldwide launch date for the new i4, set for the end of June next year, so just over four months before its debut, it begins to lose camouflage, revealing a new decorative pattern with chrome inserts on the closed grille along with narrow headlights. The camouflage still hides only the shape of the front bumper.
The camouflage barely hides the profile of the BMW i4: the lines and shapes of the side surfaces are particularly visible, as well as interesting details such as recessed and manually operated door handles or vertical gills in the lower part of the front fenders in the shape of a hockey stick.
The electric sedan gets updated 18-inch alloy wheels as standard with eye-catching bright gray spokes, and at the rear, the only special detail is the bumper with vertical vents at the edges. The front grille is complemented by two components of the M Sport package. Another addition emphasizes the “sportiness” of the cabin.
The new BMW i4 will be produced in Munich from November and arrive at showrooms in the spring of 2022. The model will receive two versions, one with the “signature” M and the other with the i440. This version will have an electric motor located on the rear axle, developing a maximum power of 340 hp. An 80 kWh lithium-ion battery is installed between the axles, providing a maximum range of 600 kilometers.
