Electric Porsche Taycan first noticed in road traffic

February 25, 2019 0 By autotimesnews

According to eyewitnesses, it looks smaller Porsche Panamera. The car was spotted on the streets of Stuttgart, and it is obvious that it was a test prototype, which is still equipped with models of the exhaust system (why?).

The first electric car Porsche caught the eye on the streets of Stuttgart. For whatever reason, he moved by ordinary roads – not reported. Perhaps the company decided to test semi-autonomous control and security systems in real conditions. Judging by the fact that the model is equipped with a license plate – the electric car was officially allowed on public roads.

“Just stumbled upon this prototype of the Porsche Taycan in Stuttgart – two things we noticed: it looks much smaller than the Panamera, and it looks like it rides on turns like on rails (eg the editors: the work of a fully-driven chassis),” says in the comments to the photo.

It seems that the company is trying to avoid internal competition between Taycan and Panamera. Therefore, the dimensions of the models are quite different, although the style is very similar. Another observation is a significantly reduced clearance compared to the concept of Mission E Cross Turismo. According to preliminary information, the model will receive many variations. But initially it is worth waiting for a version with two electric motors and a power of about 600 horsepower.

The cost of the Porsche Taycan will be comparable to the Panamera (about 90,000 euros). Cruising will be about 500 kilometers.

Also note that the “ordinary” Porsche Taycan sedan is not yet on the market, and the company is already undergoing the first road tests of a more practical version of the Taycan Sport Turismo.

Just bumped into this Porsche Taycan protoype around Stuttgart. Two things we noticed: 1) looks way smaller than a Panamera 2) looks like driving on rails in corners Even though, the legend @walter.roehrl is not an EV fan, both attributes are mainly possible to the new drivetrain form and battery solution. Looking forward to spot a Sport Turismo from which some are currently at cold weather testing – check @race356 for some pics of that. What's your thought about @porsche 's first all-electric model?
