Electric Mercedes-Benz eSprinter can drive 150 km without rechargingMay 26, 2018
German manufacturer introduced a commercial model of the new generation as early as the beginning of the year, but the specification disclosed only now.
Recall, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter of the new generation was introduced in February this year, in the family which appeared fully electric version. In the commercial line of the manufacturer, eSprinter became the second model – the first was eVito, and the third one, probably, will be eCitan. The start of production of an electric van is scheduled for 2019.
The model Mercedes-Benz eSprinter will be available with two options for battery packs – a capacity of 41 and 55 kWh. With the first range of the car will be up to 115 km under adverse conditions, for example, low temperature and full load. By the way, the latter can be up to 1,040 kg or up to 10.5 cubic meters. A battery with a larger capacity will provide a mileage of up to 150 km, although loading with it will be a maximum of 900 kg.
The charging time from a standard 7.2 kW system will be from 6 to 8 hours, and using a quick charging system will allow charging the battery in 45 minutes. The model eSprinter is driven by an electric motor with an output of 84 kW (114 hp) and 300 Nm of torque. Which can accelerate the car to 80 or 120 km / h of maximum speed, depending on the version.
Sales of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are better in the United States than in Europe. For example, in 2015 there were sold 28 519 units, in 2016 – 28 320, and in 2017 there are 27 608 cars. In Europe, the figures are significantly smaller: 6,193, 7,317 and 7,604 vehicles.
