Electric Lotus Hypercar for 1,000+ hp will get the name EvijaJuly 4, 2019
Until now, known under the code name “Type 130”, the all-electric hypercar finally got its own name – the car will be called Evija. The official presentation of the novelty will be held on July 16 at a special event in London, and the start of production is scheduled for 2020.
The rumors were true – the British company Lotus dubbed its first hypercar as “Evija” to follow the long tradition of naming its car models whose names begin with the letter “E”: Esprit, Europa, Elan, Elise, Eclat, Elite, Excel, Exos, Exige, Evora and, of course, the cult Eleven. In addition to disclosing the name of a fully electric hypercar, the guys also published a 15-second video teaser.
There are not so many that we really would like to see, but still it’s worth a look! As part of the video, we are shown a sports red start / stop button of the power unit together with window switch and buttons to control the automatic transmission.
The name “Evija” is highlighted on what appears to be a fully digital hypercar dashboard, while behind it appears to be LED stray light at the base of the windshield, which runs from one corner of the dashboard to another.
It is expected that the first, completely new model of Lotus will be released with a circulation of just 130 copies. The power of the hypercar will be more than 1000 horsepower, and the range of a single full charge will be about 402 km. According to rumors, the novelty will receive a full drive system and will use the power plant, developed in collaboration with the famous British company Williams Advanced Engineering. In the design of the body will be widely used carbon fiber.
