Electric Hongqi E115 from ex-designer Rolls Royce is ready for debutFebruary 2, 2020
The brand may present a novelty already this year. The appearance of a luxury SUV will largely repeat last year’s concept.
Chinese brand Hongqi is about to start mass production of its conceptual E115, which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2019, writes carscoops.com with reference to PC Auto. The serial car borrowed a lot from the concept car, which means that the SUV gets the latest brand design, recently presented on the H7 and H9. Hongqi E115 is the brainchild of Gilles Taylor, who previously worked at Rolls-Royce. Recall, the concept SUV surprised the audience with huge chrome wheels.
He also had cameras instead of traditional side mirrors and aggressive taillights connected by LED backlight.
The concept was not brought to mind, so it is now difficult to predict what a serial car interior might look like. Obviously, this will be an upscale interior in the spirit of H9 with a virtual dashboard and great multimedia covered in plush leather. Hongqi E115 does not have a radiator grill, which means that the SUV is completely electric.
The concept accelerated to 100 kph in less than four seconds, which is impressive for a car with such dimensions. Details about the power plant, the manufacturer has kept secret.
