Electric Cupra El-Born spotted in testsSeptember 22, 2020
Photospin agency Carscoops was able to photograph a prototype of the electric Cupra El-Born during road tests.
Judging by the photo, the concept is completely covered with camouflage film, but this does not mean that the appearance of the new item is a secret, since it will overlap with the appearance of the concept model of the same name presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019.
Cupra el-Born will share the platform with VW ID.3 – MEB. The production of new items will be established at the brand’s enterprise in Germany. The new model should be a more aggressive alternative to the ID.3, and it will also receive a more efficient 201-horsepower electric motor and an 82 kWh battery. This engine will allow el-Born to accelerate to 50 km / h in 2.9 seconds and travel up to 500 km on a single charge.
The novelty will differ from the VW ID.3 with sharper handling and improved maneuverability. As for the timing of the premiere of el-Born, it should debut in the first half of 2021, and its cost will be higher than that of an electric car from Volkswagen.
In addition, it was recently noted that the roof of the Tesla Model X electric car collapses on the move. So, the owners of an American brand electric crossover, which does not differ in special quality, found another problem with this model.
