Electric crossover Hyundai Ioniq 5 spotted on testsNovember 18, 2020
The journalists published photos from the tests of the electric crossover Hyundai Ioniq 5.. New 2022 model year has already received a serial body and optics In general, the car looks almost the same as the previously shown 45 Concept.
The new Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) will underpin a range of all-electric vehicles to be produced under Hyundai’s newly formed Ioniq sub-brand. At least five new electric vehicles will be unveiled in the next few years, the first of which will be the Ioniq 5. The Ioniq 5 crossover prototype has been spotted by overseas photographers when testing on public roads.
As far as we know, this car will be basically a production version of the 45 Concept presented in 2019. And judging from these spy shots, it definitely looks a lot like a show car with its sharp shapes and square-shaped LED headlights.
According to preliminary data, the electric Ioniq 5 will cost between $ 40,000 and $ 45,000, which should make it slightly more expensive than the current Hyundai Kona Electric.
However, the new platform and redesigned electric powertrain should make it a significantly more interesting vehicle. A recent spy video from the Nurburgring hints that there may be a performance-oriented version as well.
Overall, the Ioniq 5 will be a big step forward for Hyundai in terms of all-electric development. We expect it to be more powerful and be able to travel at least 482.8 km between the two charges, but no official numbers have been announced yet. A few weeks ago, Hyundai announced plans to start taking orders for the Ioniq 5 very soon.
