Electric car Lordstown Endurance is preparing for debutJune 17, 2020
Lordstown Motors will unveil a full-scale prototype of its Endurance electric vehicle next week.
To develop and create a prototype of an electric vehicle, the startup Lordstown Motors worked with the California-based Hydra Design studio, which also created realistic images of the Endurance pickup.
Founded in 2010 by automotive designer John Hall, Hydra Design Labs has a team of experienced designers and professionals with more than 30 years of average experience in the design, simulation, and prototyping of cars.
“We are very pleased to be part of the Lordstown Motors project, helping to make history with the world’s first fully electric pickup truck,” said John Hull, founder and president of Hydra Design Labs. “Our goal in developing Endurance was to create a solid platform that could meet the demands of an operational pickup truck. We were able to use the layout of the electric drive to explore new unique design solutions, ”he added.
Hydra Design Labs has worked with Lordstown Motors on the overall design of the Endurance electric pickup, including the interior and exterior of the car. The company was engaged in the design of CAD surfaces, large-scale modeling and full-size prototyping.
Both companies are now actively working on a prototype show car, which will be presented next week. Lordstown Motors reports that Endurance production is scheduled for the end of 2020, and car deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2021.
